Here's the billion dollar question... How do we waste less food?

Over the next few weeks you will love the tips and tricks on how to get the most from your food and save a few dollars along the way.

1.Source locally as much as possible and buy seasonally. This means less waste occours between the farmer and the retailer. Food is fresher and lasts longer in the fridge. On that note, dont be afriad to buy the imperfect produce which might even be richer in flavour because it's bang on ripe or has a few extra bumps or blemishes. With the correct cooking method, you can turn them into a scrumptous meal.

2. Planning your meals ahead of time and keeping check of whats in the pantry, fridge and freezer so you don't overbuy. Prepare the number of meals you need and buy what you require to make your meals. Then once you have done the food shop ensure you store the food properly so it will last well without spoiling which includes removing any packaging, checking for spoilages, using mason jars or pegs for opened bags.
